Our Basic Investigation fees are $65.00 per hour and .50 cents per mile. These fees are quite competitive in the field, and we charge by each tenth of the hour after the first hour. Many firms round up times to the next hour, which can become quite costly to the client. Here is a comparison of the same investigative times charged during a 4 day period, using both billing methods:
This comparison shows that the client could pay $150 more using the rounding up method. Prior to the start of an investigation, the client will be asked to pay a retainer fee and sign a retainer agreement. The Amount of the retainer will depend on the estimate of the time required to conduct the investigation, and this amount will vary from case to case. Sometimes our clients only need specific data services such as driver's license information, vehicle registration, criminal record checks, etc. In these cases we can quote a specific fee for the specific request.
